Peace and Joy to each of you in this new year of 2019!
I’m having a hard time keeping up with the calendar and even knowing what day it is. Our family spent the last two weeks of December and the first day of January on the road… traveling to Australia for the wedding of our son, Sam, to his fiancee Rachel.
Somehow being away from home for Christmas and New Years felt odd (along with the summer weather down under!) and we’ve struggled with a bit of jet lag and disorientation as we get back into the swing of things. But we praise God for a wonderful trip, safety, a blessed wedding, a time away from our normal routines, and for your prayers! We look forward to catching up with all of you this coming Sunday and to hear of your recent news and happenings.
What will 2019 bring for JCC? We continue to worship and pray together as we seek God’s leading and direction for us as a church community. Thank you for being part of this family and for your support in both praying and giving.
Our scripture texts for this coming Sunday are the following:
Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time. (Ecc. 1:10)
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. (Isaiah 43:18-19)
We will be thinking together about “new things” and about our life together in this new year. Won’t you come and join us at 10 a.m.?
